The start time for the 200K brevet this Saturday has been changed.
Start time is now 7AM.
This is a good route for a winter-time ride, but there always is the possibility bad weather causing us to reschedule. Please check the PA Rando website, blog, and social media for last minute announcements.
There is always the possibility of black ice with temperatures below freezing. Please be cautious anywhere you think water could have frozen on the road. Common times to encounter black ice are just after the start, and in the late afternoon when sunshine ice melt refreezes. Stay alert.
Recent high winds have left some debris on the shoulders. Be alert, especially after dark. The restrooms at Bulls Island (miles 79 and 94) are usually open and heated.
The route passes through the flashing-light intersection of Greenwich St and Main St twice - first at mile 2.3 and then at 48.5. It's a left turn (north) the first time at the flashing light and a right turn (south) later. This may confuse your GPS. Many are totally flummoxed and will direct you the wrong wayand then insist on a U-turn for the next 5-10 miles. Be ready to disobey!
