The December 5 R-12 brevet was the last Eastern PA event for 2009 ... final results for the entire year have been posted at:
http://users.rcn.com/trosenbauer/Results2009.pdf
... congratulations on all those hard-earned brevets! A recap of 2009 has been posted at:
http://parandonneurs.blogspot.com/2009/12/2009-recap.html
The next R-12 event is right around the corner ... details for the January 2 PA Dutch 200k have been posted at:
http://users.rcn.com/trosenbauer/R12ClubJan2.html
... the cuesheet has been updated (draft 5) for the new start/finish which will be organizer's Rick Carpenter's house. There will most likely be an update posted after Rick's preride checkout between Christmas and New Years -- be sure to check back on the website for updates.
In order to celebrate the start of the 2010 season, there is no registration fee for this ride (although a current club membership is still required). The current membership status has been posted at:
http://users.rcn.com/trosenbauer/Membership.pdf
... those of you with expired memberships can renew by mail or when you sign-in for an event.
As noted on the event page, there is a diner near the start/finish to meet and top-off before you clip-in. And our organizer, Rick Carpenter, will be hosting a post-ride gathering at his house... I think he may have some announcements to make then. I also hope to hand out some of the 2009 brevet cards to the regular riders and these 'Eastern PA Super Randonneur' plaques:
http://parandonneurs.blogspot.com/2009/12/2009-eastern-pa-super-randonneurs.html
... and with a bit of luck, I should have some EM1240 jerseys to hand out to those patiently waiting for them.
Hopefully, the rain and above average temperatures this weekend will clear up the roads by the new year. The following riders have indicated they plan to ride (weather permitting):
-Rick Carpenter (organizer)
-Tom Rosenbauer (your RBA)
-Andrew Mead
-Ixsa Gollihur (new member)
-Dana Thompson (new member)
-Shane Beake
-Ed Pavelka (new member)
-Keith Spangler
And perhaps we'll see Bill Olsen start a new Eastern PA R-12 streak, after he set a record of 14 straight events that finally ended in December. And perhaps Len Zawodniak will clip-in to extend his current Eastern PA streak of 8, which is currently the highest. If you're planning to join us as well, send an e-mail confirmation to organizer Rick Carpenter:
